Shirley U.F. Amin, MD
is a staff pathologist at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She received her medical education at the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica, and received her medical degree from the University of London. She won a World Health Organization scholarship to the Royal Postgraduate School of Medicine, London, UK, to pursue higher training in pathology, and passed examinations for Diploma in Clinical Pathology, University of London; Diploma in Pathology, Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Physicians; and Membership of Royal College of Pathologists. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology. Dr. Amin completed Fellowships in immunopathology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois and in renal, anatomic and clinical pathology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, US-Canadian Academy of Pathology, and Royal College of Pathologists. Dr. Amin served as Chief of Pathology and Medical Director of Laboratories at Broward Health Coral Springs from 1988 to 2000.
